Docutero (“App”) is provided by Pronka Ihar, Warsaw, Poland (“we”, “us”, “our”).

This Privacy Policy explains how Docutero handles data when you use the app.

  2. What the app does Docutero is an offline OCR scanner. It lets you scan images or PDFs, extract text on your device, optionally redact personal data, and save results locally in your app library.

  3. Data we process A. Data processed locally on your device

    • Images or PDF files you choose
    • Text extracted from those files
    • Redacted text generated in the app
    • Local document library entries
    • App preferences such as language and OCR/privacy settings

This local data is stored on your device and is not uploaded to our servers by us.

B. Analytics data If analytics is enabled in the app, we use Firebase Analytics to receive usage events such as app opens and feature usage. These events may include technical and usage data generated by the SDK.

C. Advertising data The app uses Google AdMob to show ads. AdMob and related Google services may process device and advertising-related data, subject to your region, device settings, and consent choices.

D. Support communications If you contact us by email, we process the information you choose to send, such as your email address and the content of your message.

  1. How document processing works OCR text recognition and personal data redaction are performed locally on your device. We do not send your scanned documents or extracted OCR text to our own servers for AI analysis.

Important: If you choose to use your device’s own share/export features, your data may then be sent to the destination you select. That transfer is initiated by you.

  1. Purposes of processing We process data to:
    • provide OCR scanning and local redaction features
    • store your local library and app settings on your device
    • measure app usage and improve the app, if analytics is enabled
    • serve ads and manage ad consent
    • respond to support requests
  2. Legal bases Where GDPR applies, we generally rely on:
    • Article 6(1)(b) GDPR: to provide the app features you request
    • Article 6(1)(f) GDPR: for app security, basic operations, and support
    • Article 6(1)(a) GDPR: where consent is required, for example certain analytics or advertising choices in applicable regions
  3. Sharing of data We do not sell your personal data.

We may share limited data with service providers used in the app:

These providers may process technical, usage, device, advertising, and consent-related data according to their own documentation and agreements.

We do not share your OCR documents or extracted text with OpenAI or our own backend services.

  1. International transfers Because Google services may operate on global infrastructure, relevant analytics or advertising-related data may be processed outside your country, including outside the EEA/UK. We rely on provider frameworks and contractual mechanisms made available by those providers where applicable.

  2. Retention
    • Local OCR documents, extracted text, and local library data remain on your device until you delete them, clear app data, or uninstall the app.
    • App settings remain on your device until changed, cleared, or removed with the app.
    • Analytics and advertising-related data are retained by the relevant providers according to their own retention settings and policies.
    • Support emails are retained only as long as reasonably necessary to respond, resolve issues, and meet legal obligations.
  3. Your choices and controls You can:
    • choose whether to scan with camera or import files
    • delete individual documents from the local library
    • clear local app data
    • disable analytics in app settings
    • review ad privacy options where available through the app
    • uninstall the app to remove locally stored app data from your device
  4. Your rights Depending on your location, you may have rights including access, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, and the right to withdraw consent where consent is the legal basis.

If you are in Poland or the EEA, you may also lodge a complaint with a competent supervisory authority, including the Polish Personal Data Protection Office (UODO).

  1. Children The app is not intended for children.

  2. Security We use reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the nature of the app. Document processing is performed locally on device. Third-party provider data is handled under the security measures described by those providers.

  3. Changes We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version date appears at the top of this page.
